Description
The Salem Public Library is showing painter Dago Benavidez’s choices of calming artwork. His work is inspired by the impressionist painters Monet and Renoir.
"Peace. Peacefulness and ah ... just so much tranquility," Benavidez said. "I kind of think we need that right now."
Clarissa Maciel works at the library and is helping hang the art. They're now up on display for the entire community to enjoy.
"During the pandemic we had to pause the community art wall. And actually Dago is the first artist to be here since we've moved back to the library," she said.
The community art wall is now filled with blue tints, flower varieties and one common object that Dago says ties all the tranquil paintings together:
"There's a moon in every one of them."
