Description
After a full day of deliberations, a Broomfield jury convicted a man in the fatal stabbing of his wife in late 2023.
Daniel Krug was arrested at a King Soopers store on Dec. 16, 2023. His wife, Kristil Krug, was found dead inside the garage of their home on Promontory Lane shortly before 1 p.m. on Dec. 14. According to an autopsy report, she had at least two wounds to her head and a stab wound to her chest.
Daniel Krug's trial began earlier this month, and testimony wrapped up on Tuesday. Jurors began deliberating Wednesday afternoon. According to the Associated Press, Krug was convicted of his wife's death.
Court documents indicate that before Kristil Krug's death, Daniel Krug sent her threatening emails and text messages, but led her to believe they were from an ex-boyfriend she had not seen in more than 20 years.
