Description
Police are investigating another case of arson and vandalism at the Tesla dealership in Loveland.
The Loveland Police Department said in a release Friday that officers were dispatched to a report of an arson at the Tesla dealership on North Lincoln Avenue just after midnight.
Their initial investigation revealed that the arson started from an incendiary device near the building and that it caught fire between two vehicles. The release said the fire put several people inside the building at risk.
An officer put out the fire quickly, according to the release, preventing any major damage, and noted a strong gasoline odor. The Tesla building and several vehicles were also damaged by what appear to be thrown rocks, the release said.
Similar incidents happened on Jan. 29, Feb. 2, Feb. 7 and Feb. 24. The Feb. 24 vandalism resulted in the arrest of Lucy Nelson, 40, who faces federal charges and was recently released on a personal recognizance bond. Police said it does not appear that the most recent incident is connected to Nelson, but Chief Tim Doran expressed disappointment over her release.
