A snowmobiler was rescued after he was buried in avalanche debris for an hour Monday, the Colorado Avalanche Information Center said. The center said around noon Monday, the snowmobiler was caught and buried in an avalanche at tree line on Shrine Mountain, which is just west of Vail Pass. The person he was snowmobiling with tried to use his avalanche rescue transceiver to find him, but did not get a signal and called 911 for help, CAIC said.
