The shooting happened just after midnight Jan. 27 near a 7-Eleven in the area of 35th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Police said at the time that two groups of men got into an argument, and shots were fired between them. Two people, 30-year-old Ernesto Delgado and 42-year-old Eric Delgado, were killed. An officer who was nearby heard the shots and responded to the scene, police said at the time. When he arrived, he saw a man with a gun who he believed was involved in the shooting. The man shot at the officer, who returned fire, police said at the time. Neither of them were hit. The man ran and was later arrested after a search of the area.
