The body of a man who had been missing since Dec. 19 after El Paso County deputies responded to a home and found a large amount of blood has been located in a wooded area outside of the county, the sheriff's office said Friday. On Dec. 19, the sheriff's office began investigating the disappearance of 37-year-old Stephen Walker, who lived in a home in the 1800 block of Pima Drive in Cimmaron Hills. Johnny Rankin Morris was his housemate, the sheriff's office said. While at the home, deputies discovered a large pool of blood in the garage and other areas of the home. Both Walker and Morris were initially reported as missing, but the sheriff's office later said Morris was a "person of interest" in Walker's disappearance. During the investigation, information was developed that led investigators to a wooded location outside of El Paso County, where a man's body was located, the sheriff's office said Friday. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified that victim as Walker. The sheriff's office did not specify where or when his remains were discovered. On Friday, the sheriff's office said a first-degree murder warrant had been issued for Morris.
