While the snowstorm that swept through Denver Monday night brought minimal snowfall, it left behind icy conditions that wreaked havoc on the roads. Between 5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday, Denver Police responded to 150 crashes — nearly triple the 57 crashes reported during the same timeframe earlier this week when the roads were dry. Lakewood police reported 15 crashes in the same period, more than double their usual seven on a non-icy night.
