Description
Lance Cervantes, a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne, has always found purpose in serving others—first in the military, and then through his home improvement business.
“I was in the Army. I was with the 101st Airborne,” Cervantes said. After serving, he eventually started a home improvement small business. He called it "TLC Home Improvements."
"It's my wife's name: Tina Lance Cervantes," he said. He's been working for about 12 years until the October theft. He showed up in a neighborhood in Boulder, where he parked his trailer for a nearby work project. The trailer - along with the essential tools - was missing.
"Pieces of my lock were on the ground," he said. Despite nearby Ring doorbell cameras, there were no leads.
"Nobody saw anything," Cervantes said.
Since the theft, he’s struggling to work with only his wife’s tools available for smaller jobs. Cervantes estimates he lost at least $25,000 in tools, equipment, and the trailer.
The hardest part he said is the emotional toll of canceling appointments with customers. “I want to work. I love working,” he said.
They did file a report with Boulder Police.
A GoFundMe has been started to help Cervantes replace his stolen tools and trailer.
