Dramatic body camera footage captured the rescue of two children from the backyard of a home that caught fire Sunday. The fire was reported at a home in the 4800 block of South Gibraltar Lane in Centennial just before noon on Sunday. That's near the intersection of South Reservoir Road and East Chenango Drive. When deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office arrived at the home, they said they saw black smoke pouring from the home and heard kids screaming and crying. The deputies quickly realized the children, ages 8 and 14, were in the backyard of the home but were unable to get out because the gate in the fence was blocked. Body camera footage shows the deputies run into the neighbor's yard and tear out some of the fence posts to make a hole for the kids to escape through. The South Metro Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire and no one else was home at the time.
