Description
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said on Nov. 29, 2024, it had issued a Code Red emergency alert and was evacuating up to 30 homes in Byers due to a large structure fire. The fire was in the 600 block of East Pleasant Avenue in the town along Interstate 70 east of the Denver metro area, the sheriff's office said. The building on fire appeared to be a barn or shop. Flammables inside included fuel tanks that had exploded.
