Description
Boulder resident and acclaimed road cyclist, Marianne Martin, who won the first ever Tour de France Feminin in 1984, is in the hospital after a horrible crash while descending Sunshine Canyon on Oct. 6, Jeff Platt, a spokesperson for Martin said in a release Tuesday.
Platt said the accident happened while descending Sunshine Canyon when Martin apparently overcorrected on a turn at a high rate of speed, crashing her bike and suffered a collapsed lung, concussion, fractured clavicle in two places, fractured collarbone in two places, 12 broken ribs (some in multiple places), and road rash.
