The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) said eastbound I-70 was closed between Exit 163 (Edwards) and Exit 167 (Avon). At 10:47 a.m., the left lane was reopened. An eastbound detour was in place via Exit 163 on U.S. Highway 6 to Avon. Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said it responded to I-70 around milepost 163 at 4:30 a.m. Friday after a report of a multi-semi crash. CSP said two semi trucks were involved in the collision. One truck was going west when the driver went through the left shoulder barrier and into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a semi truck going east.
