A Fort Collins animal rescue said on Monday that it's in need of donations and fosters after it rescued more than 500 guinea pigs from a Colorado breeder. Cavies and Canines Animal Rescue took in the guinea pigs from a breeder who was unable to properly care for the animals. The rescue group said it found the pigs living in "deplorable" conditions. They were severely overcrowded in small plastic containers and lacked essentials like hay, food and water.
