A caravan with nearly 2,000 migrants of various nationalities departed Monday from the city of Tapachula, in the Mexican state of Chiapas and on the border with Guatemala, heading towards the United States, according to CNN. Called “Viacrucis migrante”, this caravan is the second to be formed this year from the south of Mexico, and it occurs a few days after a Texas law that seeks to establish its own rules to regulate immigration was momentarily suspended by the justice department of the United States.
