Today we heard from Alex Mackiewicz's parents for the first time. He was on his way to school on March 6 in Highlands Ranch when a driver hit him. The boy's parents are demanding change after the crash. Alex Mackiewicz, 13, was in a crosswalk when he was hit at Venneford and Highlands Ranch Parkway. The driver is facing charges of careless driving causing death. The Douglas county Sheriff said that's a $1,000 fine and one year in jail. Alex's parents said that's not enough.
