This video provided by the Lakewood Police Department shows officers taking a hit-and-run crash suspect into custody after witnesses stopped him. Lakewood police credit community members for helping stop the suspect after a deadly hit-and-run crash Saturday night. Police said the crash happened in the area of West Jewell Avenue and Iliff Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, police said, they were flagged down by good Samaritans who held onto the suspect to keep him from running away. "While we do not recommend this type of justice, we do appreciate the citizens who were there to help us," police said on social media.
