A 14-year-old boy was likely speeding when he struck a guardrail, veered into oncoming traffic, and hit a minivan Tuesday morning on East 88th Avenue, according to Commerce City Police. The teen was driving a red vehicle west on East 88th Avenue near Dahlia Street around 8:20 a.m. when the crash happened. The red-colored vehicle, which police said was not stolen, ended up in a creek. Four boys, including a 12-year-old who was in the front passenger seat, were ejected. The driver was critically injured, according to Commerce City Police. The driver and front seat passenger are brothers, the back seat passengers are both 16. Two women in the minivan were taken to the hospital but had minor injuries, police said.
