Aurora Police Chief, Art Acevedo, is moving to Austin, Texas for a new role in police oversight. He will serve as the interim assistant city manager of the city of Austin. He'll be a liaison between the the city's police department and the city manager's office. The city said they created this position and hired Acevedo for it -- hoping he'll lead the department through staffing challenges and reform after the 2020 protests.
