Description
FORECAST BY: Meteorologist Chris Bianchi
THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE: A cold front swept through the state on Thursday morning, and it'll keep things mostly cloudy and chilly into Friday in Denver, while mountain snow continues to pick up as well.
Look for light-to-moderate mountain snow to continue into Friday, with Winter Weather Advisories up for most of our southern and western mountains. A Winter Storm Watch is up for some of our northern mountains (specifically the Park Range) for this weekend, where as much as two feet of snow could fall this weekend.
In Denver, we may see a few flurries on Friday afternoon, but we're not expecting any accumulation in the metro area.
Snow picks up for our northern mountains on Saturday and Sunday, while it comes to a close in our southern mountains. Meanwhile in Denver, look for a mix of sun and clouds both days this weekend a high in the 40s, but it'll be windy as well.
Wind will also pick up this weekend, with gusts upwards of 40 mph in Denver on Saturday and Sunday. Foothills on the east slopes of the Front Range could see 60-70 mph gusts this weekend.
It'll warm up into next week, with highs in the 50s and 60s for most of next week, before perhaps some more active weather by the end of next week and the following weekend (Dec. 9-10).
