A man riding a bicycle was shot and killed Tuesday evening on U.S. 301 in Riverview. Hillsborough County deputies received a call just after 3 p.m. about a possible shooting near U.S. 301 and Balm Riverview Road. They arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation caused major backups for several hours on U.S. 301. Deputies said the shooter, who was in a truck, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
