Bay Colony Apartments in Tampa went up in flames early Saturday morning, sending one person to the hospital with a minor injury. In a news release, Tampa Fire Rescue said crews responded to the fire around 3:24 a.m., noting heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor. Firefighters reportedly attacked the blaze from the inside but were evacuated as conditions deteriorated, crews said. A second alarm was requested soon after, bringing additional crews to the scene.
