Description
37-year-old Kasey Pellage was arrested yesterday and charged with peeping into windows of a home near South Lois Avenue and West San Miguel Street. Pellage appeared in court today for the first time as he faces serious charges.
For residents like Emily Fields, the crime was deeply unsettling. "It's really surprising and unsettling," she says. "Normally, the neighborhood keeps up and chats with each other. We've never had anything regarding a safety issue or burglary and certainly not a situation like this."
The crime was even more alarming when surveillance footage was released by the Tampa Police Department, showing Pellage in a tank top and shorts peeping through a neighbor's window in the area. The video stirred up fear among residents, prompting them to take extra precautions. "It’s a little scary," Fields shares. "My first thought was, 'What kind of windows do I have? Has he been by here?'"
According to police, Pellage’s suspicious behavior wasn’t a one-time occurrence. Tampa police revealed that Pellage was caught on video on March 29th and 30th, approaching homes and peering through windows in the same neighborhood. The investigation took a significant turn on April 4th, when a tip led detectives to identify Pellage as the suspect.
