Description
More than 212,000 pounds of liquid egg products are being recalled because they may be contaminated with a cleaning solution, federal food safety officials announced.
Cargill Kitchen Solutions is pulling several varieties of liquid and frozen egg substitutes, including Egg Beaters and Bob Evans Better'n Eggs products, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The recall affects products with the establishment number "G1804" that were produced from March 12-13, 2025. The items were shipped to distributors in Ohio and Texas as well as foodservice locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois and Iowa, though officials said it's possible the items were distributed nationwide.
Investigators received a tip about potential contamination with a cleaning solution containing sodium hypochlorite, commonly known as bleach. The USDA said scientists concluded there was low health risk and that using the products should not cause any negative impacts on health.
