A SWAT team responded to a Venice home after a shooting Monday afternoon, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called just before 2 p.m. about a shooting on Olivia Road off of Ponderosa Road. Two acquaintances were having a disagreement when one showed up at the other's home, the sheriff's office said. That's when shots were reportedly fired from inside the house. One person was shot and taken to the hospital. Deputies previously said the shooter, identified as 57-year-old Kevin Johnson, was still inside the house. But once they made entry, he wasn't there. Johnson is wanted on an aggravated battery charge. Anyone with information on where he may be is asked to call the sheriff's office at 941-316-1201 or 911.
