Description
Michael Rudman pleaded guilty Thursday to several charges stemming from an incident at a Tampa strip club.
He was arrested on March 19, 2023, for trying to walk into the Mons Venus club with a loaded gun and a devil's mask covering his face. Surveillance video from that night showed Rudman opening the door at the entrance before a security guard intervened, knocked the gun out of Rudman's hands and wrestled him to the ground.
Investigators also found extra ammunition, nine knives and other modifications for his gun in his truck, revealing preparations to carry out a mass casualty attack.
The plea deal includes convictions on the following charges:
Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Possession of a firearm while under a risk protection order
Possession of cocaine
Possession of drug paraphernalia
The judge said a sentencing date would be determined at a later time. Rudman faces a minimum of 10 years in prison. If the judge allows credit for time served, he would get 731 days taken off his sentence.
