Among the American hostages expected to be freed is Sagui Dekel-Chen, a father of three whose family members split their time between Sarasota and Israel. Sagui's father is currently in Israel to stay close to the center of the crisis, while his stepmother in Sarasota holds onto hope that he will be returned home alive. "We've been here before," Gillian Kaye, Sagui's stepmother, said back in January. "We had a deal that was completely violated a year and a half ago. Hostages were freed, and then we were right back to the horrible war." Reports from hostages who were released more than a year ago suggest that Sagui, now 36, was seen wounded in Hamas tunnels.
