An 18-year-old man riding a motorcycle was killed in a crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge Friday, causing significant traffic delays throughout the morning commute.
The deadly crash was one of two crashes on the Howard Frankland Bridge, one in each direction, adding to the traffic buildup.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the motorcyclist, identified as a man from Greenville, Ohio, was riding northbound in the outside lane. At the same time, a 65-year-old man from St. Petersburg was driving an SUV in the center lane. Meanwhile, an FDOT Road Ranger was assisting a disabled car on the outside shoulder of the highway.
