A laborer who worked on Rebuild Florida homes himself is speaking out after he says he witnessed fraud firsthand. Jason Walls admitted that shoddy work was done on some of these homes including Denise Rotolante’s home. We showed you how she had a garden growing out of her roof from a bad install. When we interviewed her, she told us she had concerns with her contractor, so we reached out to the Florida Attorney General’s office to see if anyone else had complained about the company. They sent us one complaint where fraud was written multiple times. Walls filed the complaint after working for a contractor. “It was a mess from the beginning,” Walls told 10 Investigates. He sent us pay stubs confirming he was paid by the contractor on Rotolante’s Rebuild Florida project. Rotolante told us he was in charge of the renovations of her home. “I mean, it’s insane! I have a whole freakin’ garden up there,” Rotolante said about her gutter system. 10 Investigates visited her home last month, where she showed us problems from the outside to the inside where she says shoddy work was performed. “In my bedroom, there was a live wire,” Rotolante said.
