A man was found dead inside a hotel room in Sarasota on Wednesday morning after a fire, police say. The Sarasota Police Department said they responded to reports of the fire at the Baymont by Wyndham Sarasota off of South Tamiami Trail just after 9 a.m. Details are limited at this time, although the agency said officers, alongside Sarasota County Emergency Services, found the man injured in the hotel room. He was later pronounced dead. The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the incident.
