A man was shot during a welfare check in Pasco County on Thanksgiving after the sheriff's office says he was reportedly swinging a sword around kids. It happened sometime in the "early evening" on Thursday in the area of Boland Avenue in Shady Hills. Deputies initially responded after they received multiple reports of the man swinging a sword. When they arrived, the man was inside of his home before he then came outside with a gun, the sheriff's office detailed.
