One person is dead after an afternoon shooting in Tampa, police say. Tampa police said they found a man with a gunshot wound at around 3:45 p.m. Monday in the area of North Florida Avenue. He was declared dead at the scene. Police have closed North Florida Avenue between East Hanlon Street and East Kirby Street. Drivers are asked to find alternate routes as the investigation continues. Tampa police are now working to learn what led up to the shooting.
