Description
The New Port Richey Police Department is asking the public to help them in their search for a driver who officers say hit an 11-year-old riding a bicycle before fleeing Wednesday morning, officers stated in a Facebook post.
The hit-and-run crash reportedly happened around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Van Buren Street and Indiana Avenue. The driver was behind the wheel of a smaller red car, possibly a Hyundai, police said.
The condition of the 11-year-old is unknown at this time.
Officers described the driver as a middle-aged white man with a light-colored pattern shirt and blue shorts. Anyone who witnessed the crash or knows the driver should call Patrol Officer J. Parker at 727-232-8666.
