The main throughway on and off Anna Maria Island is down to one lane after a hole appeared on the bridge, the Florida Department of Transportation said. According to photos shared by local law enforcement, it appears part of the concrete on the State Road 64/Manatee Avenue bridge was destroyed or lost, revealing the woven metal structure beneath. The photos also appear to show the portion of the bridge may have undergone previous repairs, as a patch of darker asphalt appears where the hole is.
