The National Hurricane Center has issued its first advisory for Potential Tropical Cyclone Five, currently located over the central tropical Atlantic. Formerly known as Invest 98-L, the disturbance is showing better signs of organization and could soon become a named tropical storm. Ernesto is the next name on the list. A Potential Tropical Cyclone allows the National Hurricane Center to begin routine advisories on a system that has not yet developed into a tropical depression or named tropical storm but is expected to bring the threat of tropical force winds to land within 48 hours.
