President Joe Biden plans to visit Tampa next Tuesday, the White House announced Thursday morning. It's not immediately known who the president will be meeting with on April 23 or whether he plans to speak to a public audience. An average of three recent polls conducted in Florida show Biden trailing by 9 points to former President Donald Trump, according to RealClearPolitics. One poll conducted recently by Florida Atlantic University showed Trump up by 8 points over Biden — outside of its 3.3% margin of error. Florida Republicans have also gained a significant advantage over Democrats in recent years. As of March 31, there are 5.2 million registered Republican voters compared to 4.3 million Democratic voters — flipping to a majority in 2021, according to statewide data.
