Description
Pinellas County deputies are investigating an animal cruelty case after a cat was shot in the back with an arrow in St. Petersburg.
It happened near 72nd Avenue North and 33rd Street North, according to the sheriff's office.
Detectives say on Jan. 31, members of the nonprofit Cat Trap Fever Inc. rescued a 3-year-old gray domestic shorthair cat with an arrow protruding from its back.
The cat was transported to a local veterinarian where it underwent surgery. While the initial surgery was successful, the animal must undergo additional surgeries and is still in serious condition.
