The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder fatally hit a 17-year-old boy who was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk and then fled the scene. The driver was going westbound on Chancey Road. The teenager was crossing within the crosswalk at the intersection of Bellmeade Court. The driver failed to yield and hit the boy who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. According to the report, the driver did not stop to render aid and instead fled the scene. The driver is as yet unknown, but the report the Nissan Pathfinder was a 2013-2016 model and dark colored.
