This week, the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network penned a letter to federal lawmakers urging Congress to find solutions for a national cancer drug shortage.
In the letter, the American Cancer Society shared the impact of this shortage through research. "Surveys of adult cancer patients found that 10% of those in active treatment over the past year have been impacted by a drug shortage, a majority of whom have had difficulties finding substitute medications (68%) and cited treatment delays (59%)," a portion of the letter read.
