Crews are fighting a chemical plant explosion at Sound Resource Solutions in the Shepherd area in San Jacinto County, Texas.
The San Jacinto County Office of Emergency Management said there is a one-mile shelter-in-place issued for the area of FM 1127. That was reduced from the previous five-mile order. Residents and businesses in the area are urged to stay indoors and to turn off their HVAC systems.
Flammable liquids and diesel are burning at the plant, according to the sheriff's office.
