Crews are fighting a chemical plant explosion at Sound Resource Solutions in the Shepherd area in San Jacinto County Wednesday morning. The San Jacinto County Office of Emergency Management said there is a one-mile shelter-in-place issued for the area of FM 1127. The was reduced from the previous five-mile order. Residents and businesses are urged to stay indoors and to turn off their HVAC systems in the homes and buildings where they are. Flammable liquids and diesel burning at the plant, according to the sheriff's office.
