Description
A proposal that would tighten the rules for charter boats using public docks at Sarasota County parks is on hold for now.
Many charter captains currently use county docks to pick up and drop off their customers. But a proposed change to a county ordinance could cause major issues for the way these businesses operate.
Under current county ordinances, it's illegal for a commercial vessel to use county parks for business operations — including pick-ups and drop-offs. The proposed change would clarify existing language in the ordinance to make it easier to enforce.
