A police officer with the St. Petersburg Police Department went to the hospital Sunday afternoon after the officer was hurt in a crash. At around 3:19 p.m., a driver ran through a stop sign at 13th Avenue North and 37th Street North in St. Pete when they hit the police officer who was in a patrol car, a spokesperson for the police department told 10 Tampa Bay. The police officer was reportedly hurt in the crash and taken to a hospital to be checked for minor injuries. He was later released.
