An Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft found Tropical Storm Bret a bit stronger as it continues its journey across the Atlantic. The crew flying into the storm is important because it gives us our first good look at Bret's structure and the data will help with forecasting the storm's strength and track. Bret is expected to bring the risk of heavy rain, gusty winds and dangerous ocean conditions to the Caribbean islands later this week. This has prompted a tropical storm warning for St. Lucia, Martinique and Dominica and a tropical storm watch for Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. National Hurricane Center forecasters continue to monitor the system days after it formed from an area of stormy weather that emerged off the African coast late last week.
