A 2-year-old boy has died after he was seriously hurt in a shooting Sunday night in St. Petersburg, police say. At around 8:10 p.m., officers arrived at a home on 15th Avenue South after receiving a report of a 2-year-old shot, the St. Pete Police Department said in an updated news release. After he was shot, a family member tried to drive him to the hospital but then lost control of the car on 34th Street South at 15th Avenue South and crashed in the parking lot of a closed business, authorities say.
