Description
A stretch of Interstate 75 in Pasco County came to a crawl Thursday morning after plywood spilled onto the highway, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. after the driver of a tractor-trailer carrying plywood had to slam on his brakes when a white Ford Pickup quickly slowed down for unknown reasons in the southbound lanes of I-75 near St. Joe Road.
FHP says to avoid a collision, the tractor-trailer quickly braked and swerved left causing the trailer to rotate and the plywood to fly off.
The materials hit the guardrail and went into the northbound of I-75, hitting the left front side of an Infiniti SUV. Authorities say the pickup truck kept going.
