President Biden discussed the deadly mass shooting in Nashville at the top of his remarks in Durham, North Carolina Tuesday. President Biden sympathized with those who lost a loved one, saying he knows the "nightmare" of losing a child. "I've lost a child to an accident and to cancer but I tell you, there's nothing like losing a child, particularly the more senseless it is, the more devastating the impact on you. It's absolutely heartbreaking. And it's senseless. Those children should all be with us still," he said. President Biden also described himself as a "Second Amendment guy," saying he has two shotguns himself and that his sons have shotguns. "You know, but our states — everybody thinks somehow the Second Amendment is absolute. You're not allowed to own an automatic weapon, you're not allowed to own a machine gun, you're not allowed to own a flame thrower, you're not allowed to own so many other things.
