Description
A tornado warning was issued for parts of Sarasota and Manatee counties on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Those warnings have since expired.
The tornado warning was indicated in northwestern Sarasota County and southern Manatee County.
Around 11:14 a.m., radar indicated a waterspout was located just offshore over south Sarasota. At 11:29 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Lake Sarasota, or near Sarasota, moving east at 25 mph.
