Description
Dozens of Dominicans called together by a nationalist NGO protest in front of the government palace in the capital Santo Domingo to demand that President Luis Abinader halt the "Haitianization" of the country, which is already carrying out mass deportations.
"Amnesty International has ordered, as if we were practically a colony of theirs, that the Dominican Republic and the government halt the deportation of pregnant women, but no one is talking about building hospitals in Haiti," says
Abinader was re-elected in May 2024 for a second term with the promise of tightening immigration policies, including the expansion of the border wall and deportations, which totaled 84,406 in the first quarter of 2025. Last year ended with 276,215 expulsions. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
