Description
The French bicycle manufacturer (MFC), originally founded under the Gitane brand and acquired by Intersport in 2013, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Located in Machecoul, south of Nantes in Loire-Atlantique, the company employs 650 people and produces 600,000 bicycles annually—each one designed and assembled within its 30,000 m² facility. In 2024, MFC launched a new label, France Vélo, in collaboration with industry stakeholders. The initiative aims to inform consumers about the degree to which a bicycle is made in France, addressing the key question: "How French is this bicycle?" IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
