Description
Vietnam’s rubber-stamp parliament opens its latest session. The National Assembly’s 9th session is set to last for 37 working days in two separate periods, with the 2013 Constitution adjustment to be considered and approved by MPs.
In the opening session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh says Vietnam is the first country with which the US agreed to negotiate.
"When the US announced its new tariff policy, we responded calmly, with composure and initiative, implementing a range of timely, flexible, and appropriate measures in a coordinated manner -- and achieved some initial positive results,” he says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
